HALLOWEEN '26

That was a LONG Halloween weekend

But I had fun!

Friday was a low-key party with Ray's coworker and his partner & friend. They were all SO sweet and kindly let me stay the night. We chitchatted, ate yummy homemade food, drank (a LOT), played cards and watched a movie
I did the thing I did on New Years and was accidentally responsible--eating, drinking lots of water, and taking breaks--so I didn't get drunk. There was WITCHES BREW, consisting of an entire bottle of both Midori and Triple Sec, of which I had three glasses. I should be thankful that I didn't have a hangover, at least!

We watched Frankenhooker, a cult classic 90's B-horror/comedy. It was not a "good film", but it was a GREAT watch! Kind of so misogynistic that it becomes feminist somehow. Ridiculous enough to be 100% entertaining. Patty Mullen was absolutely the star and killed her role. Icon status

For my costume, I was Lopunny

Ray had extra CL and asked if I wanted to try...it took at least 30 minutes for me to put them in the first time. Plus, I had already put my makeup on so I ended up getting it all wet and smeared. But in the end...I LOOKED SO GOOD. Definitely the push I needed to start wearing them regularly

The next morning (though it was nearly the afternoon since we fell asleep at around 4am ww) I got ready to meet up with Kohi and friends in Capitol Hill. I brought my seifuku to make up for the kogal meet that never happened (RIP)

This time I put both of my lenses in first try  All thanks to my friends for believing in me!

I was so so happy with the look. Plus, it was more of a comfy outfit than a "costume" so I didn't have to spend all night fighting my clothes

Ray had a rough night...but that didn't stop us from having a good time. I'm so happy they were with us and I think they had some fun amidst the heartache. I hope so at least, they deserved a fun night out damnit!

Elisesan, the karaoke queen, rented out a room at the Rockbox for an unreasonable amount of people to come in and out of. It was so crowded, but because she's one of their regulars they didn't say a peep about it

Ray my matching seifuku!

caught being vain

Despite not feeling drunk the night before, I was certainly still all drinked out. I stuck to water and my fav non-alc drink the My Melody. Its fruity and coconutty and sweet.

After many hours of singing Jpop, karaoke classics, and Halloween favorites, we wandered around looking for our next haunt. Seattle was PACKED with people, however, and the core group wasn't in the mood to shout over each other a crazy club. We turned right back around to head for Cal Anderson for a sit-nic (a picnic where you just sit. coined it myself just now)

Some of the group broke off to a combini, where there was a line almost down the block just to get in. I have never seen a line for a corner store before...

The rest of the night was a big smoke break as everyone caught up and chatted with one another. Honestly, those moments are my favorite. Beneath the makeup and outfits, we're all just likeminded people lucky to have found each other's company thru whatever nerdy hobbies we share

Got home at 1am...ish. Daylight savings created a kind of limbo.

Then I woke up early for the opening shift at Ulta. It's still been a mess that I am not ready to detail here quite yet. Stay tuned...

Speaking of, with the time-changing craziness and the busy weekend, I ended up going to work today (Tues) thinking it was Wednesday. I got all cute for nothing! Oh well

I needed some pressed powder, since I wasn't happy with the loose powder I'd been using. I love the Canmake Secret Beauty powder that kind of lightens my complexion for a pretty glow, but I saw this Marie Claire setting powder at the Dollar Tree so I decided to give it a try.

All in all I'm happy with it! I didn't get to test the wear after a work shift so I will have to update you all. It has a slightly floral scent, which probably isn't great for my skin but it is pleasant when I apply it.

I bought similar contacts to what Ray let me borrow

I also ordered from SHEIN from the first time. It feels nasty. It's the only site selling compelling dupes at the moment though. We'll see about the quality and if I end up having to send them back...

I still can't reply to comments, but I look forward to reading what everyone has to say! I really liked my last post where I featured all the recent comments and I had fun interacting with my readers. That being said, comment anything you'd like to see me cover in a future post!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloweekend!
